Review: Glee Season 1, Episode 18

Glee is one of my favourite TV shows at the moment. Sometimes I wish I could be one of them even though I’m one generation too late from where they are. Sigh…. Anyway, the one thing I notice about Glee is the diverse background of the Glee club members. They have Whites, Blacks, Jews, Asians, Gays, Crippled, Bad boys, Nerds, Geeks, Popular cheerleaders, Football stars… The Glee Club represents everyone out there, no matter what size, colour and make. Music is a universal language.

Every week in Glee, I notice there is a common theme in the storyline. In last night’s episode, some of the characters had to deal with losing touch with something that they are familiar with or treasure. Rachel loses her singing voice due to a throat infection. This makes her feel vulnerable because singing is the only thing she is good at. Puk loses his Mohawk haircut and that makes him feel less tough and mean. Kurt thinks he is losing his dad when he sees his dad bonding with Finn. We also meet Finn’s friend who had lost his mobility when he became paralyzed from an accident. Finn is also dealing with his own lost. Finn has lost Rachel to Jesse but he is such a nice guy to accompany Rachel to see a doctor. He also helped Rachel deal with her vulnerably when he takes her to meet his paralyzed friend. Isn’t he such a nice chap? As usual, the story will end happily with Rachel getting back her singing voice. The rest of the characters will also overcome their obstacles. It’s a cool show. You should watch it even if you’re not a teenager anymore. They have great songs in there too.

These are great MP3 from Glee
