Dahn Yoga is form of yoga that was founded by Ilchi Lee in the year 1980. At the beginning, Lee taught this kind of yoga in a park Seoul. In the year 1985, he rented a 900 square feet space in Seoul which became the first training center. During the same year he published a book called "Dahnhak: Its Principles and Training Method". It was the first edition of the book.
In the year 1986 Dahn Yoga was spreading fast and many of Lee's advanced students also started spreading the practice. During the following year many big companies including the likes of Daewoo, SK, and Gold Star (now LG) started asking him to teach this yoga to their employees. It was also taught Korean troops and athletes-in-training.
In the year 1991 one of Lee's top students opened a small Dahn Yoga center in the United States. Yoga centers were opened in Japan and Canada in the year 1996. In the year 2001 Lee started his famous Chakra tours in the United States. During the next three years Lee would extend this tour to throughout the world. In the year 2002 center started opening in the United Kingdom.
Dahn foundation was formed in the year 2006. Dahn centers started opening up in Russia. Lee consolidated his various training programs into one in the year 2007. He formed a franchise system for individuals in the US who wanted to both run and own their very own Dahn center. These centers were known as 'Body-and-Brain' Centers. All of this took place in the year 2008. In the year 2009 a firm called BMC (Brain Management Consultant) was developed in order to train instructors who wanted the license to share this technique with others. During that same year Sweden's first 'Body-and-Brain' Center was opened.
