I’ve some important updates on this pose! Remember how I mentioned about my quest on finding the answer to whether yoga and pilates can help heal indigestion? I think Supta Virasana really does work. The other day I felt this uncomfortable feeling in my stomach after eating. I wasn’t feeling nausea just uncomfortable. I quickly placed a towel on the floor, got down my knees and set on my heels. I sat up as straight as I could and breathed. I did about 30 counts and slowly felt a bit relieved after that. It was like a miracle. The process helped me to burp. Then slowly I tried to lean back. I’m not that flexible yet but I just leaned back as much as I was able to. I’m going to practice this pose everyday where possible.

Memory Blog: Working on the Italian words
So far I’ve memorized 20 out of 25 words for the week. I find that recalling the words are a lot easier than the earlier vocabulary section. This is partly because I only have to study 5 words per day. This means that cramming too much information in a short time is bad. When you have lesser information to study in a longer duration, you’ll have more time to process the information and work on recalling the information better. In the previous section, I had tried to study more than 10 words per day and recalling of the information wasn’t as good as this chapter. Isn’t that cool?

Knitting Blog: The 2nd Mitten
Work on my second fingerless mitten has started. Here you will see how I started the project by knitting in a round with my Double Pointed Needles
In the first picture, I began by casting on the required number of stitches onto one needle. I find this easier than to cast the stitches directly to 3 needles.
Next as I knit the first row, I divide the stitches evenly across the 3 needles like this:
When I get to the end of the round, I place a stitch marker and continue knitting the second row as I connect the last stitch to the first. What you see here are about 2 rows of the round. With this, I can now continue working my way up toward the palm.
To be continued...

Memory Blog: Moving on to the next chapter
I’ve completed memorizing all the prefixes, suffixes and root words from the vocabulary section of Master Your Memory
. To tell you the truth, I’ve been too lazy to try to see how many of those words I can recall so I can’t really say if the SEM3 method is really working. I think I might have forgotten some of the words in between. However, I couldn’t wait to move on to studying some foreign languages so I went on to chapter 14 of Master Your Memory
According to the book, 50% of each spoken language consists of 100 basic words so if we memorize these 100 words, we should be able to roughly make out something out of the language. The book gave a list of 100 words from 7 of the most spoken languages in the world. I started off the Italian words and I’ve decided to memorize 25 words per word. This means that if I remain disciplined enough to keep this up, I should be able to memorize the 100 basic words from each language each month. Will I be able to understand some Italian by then? Hmmm...
