FOTTP Episode 10 – A Serial Fiction

They waited in anticipation suspiciously. A silhouette appeared in the mist. It approached them slowly. Should they be afraid? As it loomed nearer, they took a step back in fear. As it got a little closer, they notice a skeleton in a hood on a boat. It was the most hideous thing they had ever seen. Its jaws opened as it stretched out its hand. There was a long pause as Penelope and Juliana were unsure of what to do. Then the skeleton finally spoke, “Welcome to the river of stench. It will be 5 gold coins for the ride please.”

Juliana fished into her bag and promptly paid the skeleton. They hesitated for a while and then got into the boat. There was a long moment of uncomfortable silence. They watched their boat move further and further away from the shore and eyed the skeleton suspiciously. Finally the skeleton broke the silence. “You guys are from out of town?”

“Er…yeah,” answered Penelope. It was a weird conversation but they tried their best to act as if riding on a boat with a skeleton was something they did every day. As the boat travelled down the river, they noticed plastic containers shaped like huge golf clubs on one side of the river. In each container were what looked like sand glowing in red light in them. Some of the golf clubs were partially filled and some were almost near its brim. There were names and date labels on them. On the other side of the river, were plastic bottles with blue sand glowing in them. Like the golf clubs on the opposite side of the river, some were partially filled, some were empty and some were almost full.

“So..,” Juliana decided to make some conversation with the skeleton. “What are those?” she asked pointing to the golf clubs and bottles on both sides of the river.

“They represent the good and bad deeds of the human race. The gigantic golf clubs represent the VIPs, management and people of high statue. The bottles represent the non management staff. The red glows show the bad deeds and the blue glows represent the good deeds. Look at that one,” it pointed. The golf club had their CEO’s name on it. Another club had their boss’s name on it.

“Most of them will burn in hell in time to come. The ones in blue will go to purgatory. God and Satan have been busy collecting data. It’s pretty accurate and it’s much more accurate than your computer. There are no computer viruses here so you can’t mess with them. Whoever comes close to them will be vaporized into thin air.”

They were intrigued and wanted to know more. However before they could ask more questions, the boat pulled up towards a pier. “My services are done,” it said. They hopped out of the boat and looked around them. Slob valley stood before them. This is where they would find the sloth demon and perhaps finish their mission.

“One last thing,” said the skeleton. “Beware of the Ssob creatures. They are evil.”

“We will thanks,” replied Penelope as the boat slowly pulled away. It was time to search their survival guides on their iPads.

FOTTP Episode 9 – A Serial Fiction

When they opened their eyes, they found a huge parcel wrapped in ribbons in front of them.

“What is it?” asked Juliana.

“There is a tag on the parcel.” Penelope was afraid to touch it. She tilted her head to read it. “It says it’s from Ryan, the Charity Angel.”

Whispering voices seemed to hiss in the background. “Open it, open it,” the voices said repeatedly.

They both glanced at each other and at then at the parcel suspiciously. In unison, they both withdrew their swords and slowly cut the strings. Something gleamed in the box. They lifted the lid with the tips of their swords. There was a pair of shiny bracelets and nose pincer in the box. Penelope picked up the note and read it.

“It’s a genuine gift from the angels. These are invisibility bracelets. We have to put these on when we get into the Sloth Demon’s cave unnoticed.”

“Great!” Juliana heaved a sigh of relief. “I suppose that the nose pincers are for us to use when we cross the river of stench.”

“Yeah but the river seems to be gurgling. There is even smoke rising from it. It looks like a river of lava. It doesn’t look safe to swim in it. We don’t have any snorkeling gear either. Is there anything in the survival guide on how to cross the river?”

“Nope,” replied Juliana dejectedly. “But wait a minute…”

Juliana noticed a sign under a nearby tree. The sign read “Press me to hitch a ride.” She looked around and noticed a horn next to it. Juliana walked over to the tree with nonchalance.

“Wait!” cried Penelope. But it was too late. Juliana had already pressed the horn without thinking. A loud blaring noise was produced and it echoed into the winds. Birds flew up in fright startling them. The next moment Penelope and Juliana gasped.

FOTTP Episode 8 – A Serial Fiction

Penelope and Juliana struggled and screamed as they were lifted high into the air. The giant flying skunks held on to them tightly as they were joined by more giant flying skunks who flew beside them.

“Let us go!” screamed Penelope.

“Stop struggling. We don’t wish to drop you 100 feet below and squash you to a pulp,” the skunk gripping Penelope spoke in perfect English.

“Who are you?” she asked.

“My name is Kirk. We’re the Skunk People and we’ve been sent by the angels to help you escape from the Big Wigs. What did Repissog tell you?”

“The pants were stolen by Sloth and the only way to get it back it is to give him amnesia. We have to collect pigtails from the greed demon. The stench of the pigtails will knock the Sloth demon out and cause him to have amnesia.”

“You’ll have to be very careful not to be seen by the greed demon or she will eat you. “

As they neared another cave, the flying skunks landed one by one and released them. “Our journey ends here and this is as far as we’re able to help,” said the flying skunk. “We wish you luck in recovering those pants.”

“Thank you.” Penelope and Juliana said earnestly as they watch them flew off.

Taking out their iPads, they googled on the “Greed demon”.

“It says here that we have to cross the river of stench to get down a valley where the Green Demon lives,” said Juliana. “She has many pigtails growing on her head and she sheds them whenever she burps.”

“Ewww!” Penelope winced.

“And we need to collect 500 grams of Pigtails in order to give the Sloth Demon Amnesia. When this is done, we’ll be able to steal the pair of pants back from him.”

“So how do we get to the Greed demon’s cave and get those pigtails? We now have an estimate of 12 hours left.” asked Penelope. “We have to think of something fast.”

Just then, there was a blinding flash of light. What is it now? Should they run?

FOTTP Episode 7 – A Serial Fiction

The cave’s entrance was partially covered with big rocks. Fear griped them as Penelope and Juliana approach the entrance with caution. Then without warning, the ground started to shake. The rocks before them started shifting and soon there was a path leading to the interior of the cave.

Penelope took a few steps forward and hesitated, “Do you think it’s safe to go in?”

Juliana however, was already walking ahead of her. “I don’t know but let’s find out.”

The interior of the cave was spacious. The air felt very cool in there. Small flames danced eerily along the cave walls, partially illuminating the whole area.

“I’ve been expecting you,” said an elderly voice behind them. They both wheeled around in fright. The voice belonged to a female figure draped in a black cloak.

“Are you Repissog?” asked Penelope bravely.

“Yes. I have the answers that you are seeking but you must first hand me some payment and answer three questions.”

Penelope dug into her bag and produced a gold coin. “Will this do?”

“Good. And now for the three questions.”

“Hold on!” Interrupted Juliana. “What if we get the answers to the questions wrong?”

“Then I cannot give you the answers you seek. You will have to try.”

Their hearts pounded as they waited for the first question.

“In which year did Michael Jackson pass away?”

Raising her eyebrows with a laugh, Juliana answered “2009!” Thunder boomed in the background and Repissog nodded. She heaved a sigh of relieve and waiting for the next question. “Is Lady Gaga blonde?”

Juliana looked bewildered and glanced at Penelope for help.

“Yes she is!” interjected Penelope. She had seen some of Lady Gaga’s MTV videos and she was certain about it. Thunder boomed in the background again and Repissog nodded again. The two girls jumped up in glee. That’s two out of three questions right. They held hands and waited for the final question.

“Name me the lead star of Twilight.” The sound of a ticking clock echoed in the background.

“Err…,” Juliana paused and nodded at Penelope.

“Robert Patterson!” They both sang in unison. Thunder boomed again and Repissog got up.

“Good.” Repissog seemed pleased. “I will now give you the answers to what you seek. The Lust Demon’s pants have been stolen by another demon. His name is Sloth. He has been using it for his benefit so that his relatives in your dimension will not be required to do any hard work. One of his relatives even works with you and she just got promoted for sleeping during office hours.”

“Miss Flip Flop!” Penelope said almost suddenly.

“Yes. That explains all the strange things happening around you,” continued Repissog. The Sloth demon is not aware of the problem he has created and he will not even care when he finds out.”

“Oh no,” cried Juliana. “Is there any way to stop him?”

“Yes, the stench from the Greed Demon’s pigtails can give him Amnesia. You must cut off some hair from Green and put this under his nose to make him loose his memory. Your survival guide will take you to his lair. You must go now.”

They glanced at their watches. It has almost been an hour since they conquered the Bigwigs. They need hurry before the Bigwigs get strong again.

“Thanks Repissog!” Juliana waved at the gypsy lady and motioned her friend out of the cave. “We need to run, Penelope. The bigwigs could be around here soon.”

A dark shadow loomed above them and something swooped low over their heads. They ducked.

“Goodness!” exclaimed Penelope. “Look up there! There are giant flying skunks in the sky! Run!” But there wasn’t any time to run. Before they knew it, the two giant flying skunks grabbed them each and lifted them in the air.

“Arrrrggghhh!” Their terrified screams echoed in the night.

FOTTP Episode 6 – A Serial Fiction

“Run Peeps! Run!” Juliana yelled at the top of her lungs to her friend. Panting, they both ran in opposite directions and headed deep into the dense forest. Penelope thought hard and decided that she should try to hide. She had never tried climbing up a tree before but at that moment, her fear gave her strength. She shined up the trunk of the tree and reached for the nearest branch for support. She hugged the trunk and rested on a branch and tried to keep quiet. Juliana was nowhere to be seen. She hoped that her friend had found a hiding place too.

Two bigwigs appeared below her tree. They looked around puzzled but determined to find the intruders. Another five bigwigs were standing within a radius of a few feet away.

“Cre-ee-eek!”

Oops! The branch on which Penelope was sitting on was slowly bending under her weight. She hugged the trunk tighter and tried to reach for the next branch but that branch was too high. Penelope held her breath and prayed hard. What will happen if she was caught by a bigwig? As her branch sank lower, the ends of the branch lifted off the wig from the creature. The creature winced and shrank to a tiny size. It squirmed and dashed for cover in some bushes. Great! So the creatures will lose their power when their wigs come off. The other bigwigs started approaching her tree. With shaky hands, she fished into her bag and pulled out her catapult and aimed.

“Whack!” another wig came off. She aimed again and prepared to shoot at more wigs. She’ll have to hit as many as she can.

“Cha-a-a-rge!” Juliana came dashing out of the bushes and grabbed as many wigs as she could. The rest of the bigwigs started retreating quickly.

“Peeps! We need to stop them! They’re informants! Don’t let them get away!”

Penelope quickly jumped off her tree and grabbed a stick. They managed to put down almost all the bigwigs except for one. It vanished into the forest as quickly as it had appeared.

“Oh no,” Juliana wiped sweat off her forehead. “It’ll be a matter of time before the demons discover our presence here.”

“Yes,” said Penelope.”The survival guide stated that bigwigs usually restore their strength in an hour when their wigs grow back. We better look for Repissog fast. ”

“Plus,” added Juliana “we’ve already wasted a day searching for Repissog…”

“Hey look over there!” Penelope pointed to a cave behind a tree. A mailbox outside the cave read “Repissog”. They approached the cave with caution but the cave’s entrance was covered with big rocks. Oh no, how were they going to get in? Was Repissog in the cave?
